Abdul Basit

Abdul Basit is a podcast featuring the Quran recitations of the renowned Egyptian Qari Abdul-Basit 'Abdus-Samad. Born in 1927 in Armant, Egypt, he memorized the Quran in all seven styles and led Tarawih prayers at age 14. His unique recitation style, especially of Surah Fatihah, won him three world Qirat competitions in the 1970s. He also served as the first president of the Reciters' Union in Egypt.
